Lady Tiger Track Team Moves On to Bremen Regional With Sectional Win

The weather threatened but never became a factor as Warsaw won its fifth Sectional title in a row Tuesday night at the Tiger Athletic Complex. The Lady Tigers scored in 14 of the 16 events and will send 16 athletes to the Regional meet in Bremen next Tuesday starting at 6:00p.
A highly competitive meet was expected and the competitors responded with two new Sectional records: Kaylee Lapierre (Elk Central)- High Jump of 5' 6.25" which broke the previous record of 5' 5" set by Cathy Retting (Lakeland 1989) and Chelsea Bishop (Warsaw 1992), and Sophie Brown (Fairfield)- Pole Vault of 10' 7" which broke the previous record of 10' 6" set by Jade Bobeck (Fairfield 2010).
Warsaw's Ashley Erba also set a new school record in the 3200m as she ran 11:18.41 which broke Erica Ridderman's 2-year old school record of 11:20.77.
Warsaw scored 147 points on the evening led by 1st place finishers and Regional qualifiers(top 4 finish):
