WARSAW - On a record-setting night, the Lady Tigers brought their undefeated 11-0 (7-0) record to the NLC Championship meet looking to make NLC and school history and they did not disappoint. Warsaw teams from 1983-89 won 6 consecutive titles and eventually won 8 in 10 years through 1993; this year's Warsaw team tipped the scale to the present by winning their 7th title in a row (2006-2012). Warsaw's 180 points fell just shy of the point record (190 by the 2011 Warsaw team) but the 73 points separating first from second place is a record.

Warsaw got an initial early lift in the field events with great performances from Sarah Heagy (Shot Put-2nd), Samantha Jensen (Discus-3rd), Jamie Lacheta (High Jump-3rd), and Lauren Burish (Discus-4th) but Warsaw got its biggest kickstart from Megan Dearlove (All-NLC) winning the Pole Vault in a new personal best (10' 3"), vaulting 9" higher than she has ever cleared before.

On the track, Ann Harvuot (All-NLC) swept both the 100m (12.56) and 200m (26.28) dashes with personal best times and Ashley Erba (All-NLC) continued her record-setting season by breaking the school and NLC Record in the 1600m (5:01.89) and the NLC Record in the 3200m (10:47.18). She dropped nearly 5 seconds from the previous 1600m record set by Wawasee's Rachel Stichter (2004) and 12.5 seconds from the previous 3200m record set by Megan Jackson (2005). Other Warsaw athletes earning All-Conference honors were: the 4x100m-1st (Regina Anderson, Mariah Harter, Brittney Rhodes, Ann Harvuot) in a season-best 50.85, and the 4x400m- 1st (Nicole Eckert, Jackie Ferguson, Megan Kratzsch, Tennie Worrell) in a season-best 4:03.89. Lauren Burish was voted NLC Honorable Mention for her season and meet efforts in the discus and shot put events.

The Lady Tigers are next in action Tuesday, May 15 as they host Sectionals starting at 5:00p at the Tiger Athletic Complex. Warsaw will be aiming to claim their 6th straight Sectional on May 22 at Warsaw; only the top four finishers in each event advance to the Regional level. Warsaw last won the Regional in 2007.
