BOYS SWIM TEAM LOOKS TO CONTINUE SUCCESS
Written By TSN Staff on Thursday, December 8, 2011
Did you know that Indiana is consistently among the Top 5 states with the fastest times in the country? Stop watches don't lie and the Warsaw boys swim team has done its part to help. Last year the Warsaw boys swim team was able to send 19 swimmers to the state finals in Indianapolis. Of those 19 swimmers, 6 return to this years team. Those 6 are Seniors Max Carter, Dominic Cesaretti and Nate Stone along with juniors Andrew Thrasher, Caleb Snyder and Conner Schue.
With only 6 returning swimmers off of such a successful team, one would think that this may be a "down" year for the boys swim team. Think again. With the help of the two "super freshman" in Jayden Parrett and Spencer Davidson, Warsaw's season is off to a good start. Davidson (100 breast stroke) and Parrett (100 freestyle) have stepped in and helped the Tigers by winning their individual events as well as helping the medley team finish first.
With 9 practices a week and spending 20 hours a week in the pool the Tigers are working extremely hard for first year coach Nate Long. Coach Long along with senior captains Max Carter and Dominic Cesaretti will continue to lead this team and hope to get back to Indianapolis!
Thus far, the Warsaw boys swim team has a 2-1 record with their lone loss coming to the Elkhart Central Blue Blazers who currently have one of the premier programs in northern Indiana.
Tonight the Tigers will compete against the Northridge Raiders who are currently ranked #2 in the state. Look for the Tigers to swim well and continue to get better.
Indianapolis bound? Stay tuned.
