For a moment, it looked like Wawasee was set to spoil Warsaw's "Fight Like A Girl - Cancer Awareness game. The Warriors pushed all five of their runs across the plate in the final frame, but the second of two doubles by Kelsey Dotson, followed by an RBI single by Kayla Snider with two outs in the bottom of the seventh, pushed the Tigers to a 6-5 victory in the Northern Lakes Conference showdown.
Senior Kendra Marshall, who was instrumental in organizing the event to raise funds for Amy's Angels and the Kosciusko County Cancer Care fund, highlighted the Tiger attack with a towering homer to left center as Warsaw built a 5-0 lead entering the seventh. Cari O'Hara ran her record to 8-3, scattering seven hits and keeping the Warriors off balance for much of the game. O'Hara put up blanks through the first six innings, getting help in the sixth from Tiger outfielder Ashley Ousley who made a tremendous diving catch to keep at least two Warriors from crossing the plate. Offensively, Warsaw pounded out 11 hits. Marshall, Kayla Snider, Kara Dishman, and Emily Stouder each had two hits for the Tigers.
