DOTSON SIGNS WITH HOOSIERS

WARSAW - Warsaw Community High School senior Kelsey Dotson signed a letter of intent to continue her softball career at Indiana University.
Joining Kelsey were her parents Brenda and Jeff Dotson, WCHS Athletic Director Dave Anson, WCHS head coach Jim Speicher, Indiana Shockwave93 coach Troy Werner, and Fort Wayne Fire coach Mike Stevenson.
Dotson has already etched her name into the Tiger record books with some impressive numbers, and she will add to these this year as a senior. A three-time All-Northern Lakes Conference selection and WCHS team MVP, Dotson earned first team All-State last season and was selected as 3rd Team All-State as a sophomore.
Dotson, a catcher equipped with a cannon that keeps opponents that reach base in check, had just three runners attempt to steal against her in 30 games last season, and Dotson threw out two of those runners. Dotson's force was evident not just behind the plate but beside it as well, as she has blasted 23 home runs in her career and is currently tied for fifth in the state in that career category. Her mark of 11 home runs last year is the fifth best in state history for a single season, and it helped coach Jim Speicher's Tigers set a state record for most home runs in a season with 33.
The future Hoosier has put up impressive numbers in the classroom as well, posting a 9.43 GPA through six semesters.
