Tigers Place Third in 2010 Carroll Classic

The Boys Tiger Soccer team was in Fort Wayne last Friday and Saturday for the Carroll Classic. Friday, the Tigers would take on the Blackhawk Christian Braves. The Tigers and Braves battled to a 2-2 draw. The Tigers were doing everything they could to get the ball in the net recording 12 shots to Blackhawk's 6 but Braves Goalkeeper Ben Ryan would have none of it and finished with 9 saves. Warsaw's goals were scored by Nathan Kolbe and Xavier Arellanes.
The Tigers faced 2009 State Runner-Up Homestead and Fort Wayne Snider on Saturday. The Tigers were shutout for their first loss of the season against the Homestead Spartans. They lost 1-0 with the lone goal coming from Homestead's Kyle Green.
Next up were the Panthers of Fort Wayne Snider. The Tigers blasted 11 shots to win 3-0. Nate Kolbe scored and Diego Lopez netted 2 goals with assists coming from Grant Allbritten, Jose' Rodriguez and Ethan Goodman. David Johnson is credited with the shutout with Michael Yantz providing a save for the Tigers.
The win gave the Tigers a 3rd place finish in the Carroll Classic.
The Tigers are 6-1-1 overall and 2-0 in the NLC.
Tonight, the Tigers host the Elkhart Memorial Crimson Chargers. Match time is set for 6:45pm.
