Seven months ago, the Warsaw Tigers beat the Carroll Chargers in the Semi-State Championship and went on to the State Championship. Yesterday, the Tigers beat the Chargers again in the Semi-State Championship. The difference? Seven months ago, we were watching basketball. Yesterday, we were watching soccer. Could history repeat itself?
At noon, the Tigers were matched up against a 9-11 Pendleton Heights Arabians squad. The Tigers smashed the Arabians 4-0. Goals were scored by Corey Lopez, Jose Rodriguez, Grant Allbritten and Nathan Kolbe.
Earlier this season, the Tigers lost to Carroll with a 2-3 score. The Tigers would get their revenge when it counted most by beating the Chargers 2-0. The shutout is their 12th straight. Joey Hickerson and Diego Lopez had the two Warsaw goals.
