The Lady Tiger soccer team began IHSAA Sectional play Monday night with a first round match versus Lakeland. While the players and fans alike were confident the Tigers would win this contest, nobody could have predicted the record-setting way this match played out. From the opening minute the Lady Tigers grabbed control from Lakeland on their way to a massive 11-0 victory. With the win, the Lady Tigers advanced to Thursday's sectional semi-finals. They will face Wawasee at 5:00 pm for the chance to advance to Saturday's championship game.
Sophomore Meredith Hollar set two WCHS records on the night:
#1. Hollar amassed an amazing 5 goals on the night to surpass the most goals scored in a single game (previously 4).
#2. Meredith's 5 goals gave her a new WCHS single-season record of 21 total goals scored. The previous record (20) was set in 2002 by Ashley Kitchens.
Great Job Meredith and all the Lady Tigers who made this accomplishment a reality!
