Warsaw SportsHUNTINGTON – A strong team effort carried the Warsaw girls golf team to a close win over host Huntington North Wednesday evening.

Delaney Wihebrink led the way with a 46 as the Tigers posted a team total of 190 to edge the Vikings by four strokes in play at the Norwood Golf Club.

Grayson Kilburn shot a 47 and Izzy Ray a 48 for the winners. Madelyn Ray came in with a 49 and Miriam Haag completed the varsity totals with a 60.

Laura Ham of the Vikings earned individual medalist honors with a 40.

The Warsaw junior varsity team shot 231, while Huntington North did not have a complete JV team. Brooklyn Fitzgerald led the JV team with a 54. Julia Hildebrand shot a 55, while Cassidy Good had a 57, Anna Morgan a 65 and Valerie Messmore a 66 for the Tigers.

Warsaw, now 5-2, will host Tippecanoe Valley and Wabash today at 5 p.m. at the Stonehenge Golf Club.
