Tiger Junior Tyler Ostrom Shoots 7 Under Par To Claim IHSAA State Golf Championship
Written By TSN Staff on Thursday, June 16, 2011
Every accomplishment starts with a dream. For this Tiger star, the dream started at a young age. From the time that Tyler Ostrom was big enough to swing a club, his dad Barry has been hanging out at driving ranges across the state of Indiana with his son.
Ostrom quickly learned the game with the help of his father and local professional Denny Hepler. Hepler has been saying for years that there was something special about this young Warsaw talent.
Ostrom proved Hepler and all of his supporters right this week by winning the 2011 IHSAA State Golf Tournament. Tyler shot an amazing day one score of 9 under par 63. The opening round score tied the lowest score ever shot at the tournament. EVER! He went on to shoot a 2 over par 74 in day two leaving him 3 shots clear of any competitor when the scores were final.
Final Score: 63-74 = 137
TigerSportsNation.com congratulates Tyler Ostrom -- Warsaw's very own 2011 Indiana State Golf Champion!
As a team the Tigers finished in a tie for 7th place. Here are the total team scores:
