Wawasee’s boys track team took a pair of Northern Lakes Conferene losses to Goshen and Elkhart Memorial, and the Chargers topped the pile in Elkhart Wednesday.

Isaiah Tipping gave the Warriors their only win in the shot put with a throw of 53’06”, and he finished third in the discus (113’08”). Luke Griner placed second in the 400-meter dash with a time of 51.21 behind Goshen’s Daveyon Sandford and his 50.97 stop. Spencer Hare finished third in the 3200 meters (10:15.16).

Justin Castro finished third in the shot put (42’08”), Jordan Grindle finished fourth in the 100-meter dash, Ben Haines was fourth in the 800 meters, Hagean Slusher was fifth in the discus.

The Lady Warriors came up short in a three-way Northern Lakes Conference meet with Northridge and Elkhart Memorial Tuesday, and Memorial won both legs of the triangular.

Courtney Cox, Emma Ebright, Cameron Kryder and McKenzie Smith won the 4×800-meter relay in 10:20.24, Smith won the 300 hurdles in 50.58, and Jada Parzygnot took top honors in the pole vault with an 11-foot clearance.

Parzygnot was also second in the long jump, and she and Dylan Konieczny finished two-three in the 100 hurdles. Sara Pritchard was second in both the shot put (31’11”) and the discus (112’11”). Nadia Palacios and Cox went two-three in the 800 meters, and Bailey Mayhew and Amber Beer were three-four in the 400 meters.

LAKEVIEW 97, BREMEN 12
Lakeview’s girls track team handed Bremen a lopsided defeat Wednesday.

Lakeview athletes won 11 total events and went one-two in nine of those events. Rylee Burns collected wins in the open 400 (1:04.45), the 800 (2:38.09) and as a member of Lakeview’s 400-meter relay squad with Ryan Darlington, Kiana Rager and Chrissy Rice (56.28), as well as with Rager, Joey Rastrelli and Mikayla Mimnaugh in the 1600 relay (4:42.97. Mimnaugh won both the 100 hurdles (18.81) and 200 hurdles (32.78) and the 200-meter dash (29.13). Rice won the 100 meters (14.3). Kinsey Atkins won the long jump (12’9”), Collete Blackburn won the discus (71’8.5”), and Sarah Handy was first in the shot put (24’3”). Brooke Bolinger won the 1600 meters (6:09.28)
