WARSAW – Warsaw celebrated a little late Christmas cheer Tuesday, pulling a double win over visiting LaPorte in boys and girls swimming.

Warsaw Girls 107, LaPorte 73

Warsaw claimed just five of the 12 event toppers, but had depth on its side in its dual win.

Macelyn Marcuccilli and Marissa Howett both won two events and were part of the top 200 free relay. Marcuccilli landed a 27.01 in the 50 free and 1:16.78 in the breaststroke, and Howett posted a 2:07.43 in the 200 free and 59.98 in the 100 free. The relay touched first at 1:48.37.

While LaPorte had seven wins, Warsaw took nine second-place times including all three relays.

Add in a 198.40 diving win for Jayce Sawyer and three relays – 1:45.62 in the medley, 1:36.83 in the 200 and 3:51.35 in the 400.

Jayce Sawyer soared to a diving win Tuesday in Warsaw’s win over LaPorte.
