Last Friday night, the Warsaw Tigers traveled to take on the undefeated Plymouth Rockies at "The Rockpile" in Plymouth, IN. The first quarter was scoreless but in the second, Plymouth struck first with a 17-yard touchdown run from Brock Smith. Smith is coincidentally the team's kicker as well.
With time winding down in the half, the Tigers put six points of their own on the board after a 4-yard dash by Jeremy Coppes. Scott Smyth would make the point after.
The teams would be tied at 7 going into the half.
The second half told the story for the game's outcome. Warsaw couldn't keep Plymouth's running game at bay as the Rockies scored on 2 rushing touchdowns by Smith and quarterback Houston Hodges. Hodges scored on a 69-yard run just 2 minutes later.
The Tigers fired back with the only passing/receiving touchdown of the game. Coppes hit Taylor Cone for a 21-yard touchdown pass. The Tigers looked like they were setting up for a late comeback until Plymouth's Smith would score twice more on a 2-yard and 27-yard touchdown runs. The runs were only 1 minute, 12 seconds apart. Smith tallied 27 of Plymouth's points and 228 yards by game's end.
The final score would be Plymouth over Warsaw, 34-14.
