INDIANAPOLIS – A pair of local defenders are among those that were chosen by the Indiana Football Coaches Association to make up the North All-Stars for the summer showcase.

Warsaw cornerback Blake Marsh and NorthWood defensive end Jake Lone were both chosen to represent the North team for the IFCA North-South All-Star Classic, scheduled to be played Friday, July 10, at Ben Davis High School in Indianapolis.

Lone was a beast on the defensive line for the Panthers. Lone totaled 59 total tackles, eight for loss, and had six sacks as the Panthers went 7-4 in 2019. Lone also forced a fumble, and on the offensive side of the ball, had a pair of touchdown catches in a win at Northridge.

Marsh was a two-way star for the Tigers. Defensively, Marsh made 23 tackles and two for loss and an interception from the outside. Marsh also had 595 yards rushing and 10 total touchdowns for the Tigers, which finished 9-3 on the season. Warsaw was finally able to get over the hump this past season in winning its first-ever sectional title, knocking off Penn in the sectional championship.

A host of regional players made the North All-Star squad. For the North offense includes quarterbacks Bailey Parker of East Noble and Joe Barron of Plymouth; running back Jake Fulk of Churubusco; and offensive linemen Alex Manns of East Noble, Ryan Williams of Penn and Tyler Pomeroy of DeKalb.

On the other side of the ball includes defensive linemen Gavin Luuga of South Bend Riley and Thomas Ewing of Mishawaka Marian; linebacker Spencer Arnold of Concord; and defensive backs Donovan Snyder of Mishawaka, Josh Gross of West Noble, Tristan Working of North Miami and Clay Campbell of Jimtown.

Fairfield manager Kara Kitson was named to the sideline squad, and Kris Hueber of Warsaw was named as one of the assistant coaches. Hueber, a 2001 North All-Star, made the team as a linebacker in his heyday. Mike Davidson of Mishawaka Marian and Ryan Robertson of East Noble were also named as assistant coaches. Mississinewa coach Curt Funk was tabbed to lead the North All-Stars.
