HOMESTEAD TOO MUCH FOR TIGERS

Some things change. Others, well, remain the same.
Last year, the Homestead Spartans invaded Fisher Field and handed the Warsaw Tiger football team a 52-3 spanking. This year, the Tigers had to travel down US 30, weave their way back to the field turf at Homestead and take a 51-7 beating. This writer was never very good in the math department but that's 103 - 10 in the last two years.
However, there was some good news for the Tigers. Zach Terrell, the Western Michigan-bound quarterback for Homestead is a senior and the orange and black do not have to face him again. The bad news for the Tigers last night was that Terrell did just about anything he wanted and staked Homestead to a 44-7 halftime lead. Throw in a third quarter touchdown pass and Mr. Terrell's night was finished. 5 rushes for 39 yards. 13-16 passing for 254 yards and 5 touchdowns...in 3 quarters!
As good as Terrell was, there was a bright spot for the Tigers. To begin the 2nd quarter, Warsaw drove the ball 80 yards on 9 plays for their lone touchdown. The touchdown came on a nifty Zach Rooney cutback run as the senior scampered 10 yards for the score.
Zach Rooney carried the load for the Tigers rushing 22 times for an impressive 99 yards and a touchdown.
Cameron Fritzel and Tristin McClone led the Tigers with 5 solo tackles each.
Next week the Warsaw Tiger football team starts conference play. The arch-rival Plymouth Pilgrims (uh, I mean Rockies) travel to Fisher Field to take on our Tigers. The game times from here on out will start at 7:30. Our boys need your support!

HAMBURGERS, HOT DOGS, CORNHOLE, BASKETBALL, MUSIC etc, etc.
TAILGATING STARTS AROUND 5:15ish and there will be NO CHARGE! (however, donations are appreciated!)
IT SHOULD BE A CARNIVAL-LIKE ATMOSPHERE!!!
