TERRE HAUTE - With leaders Jacob Poyner struggling with nagging injuries and Ellis Coon questionable due to an ankle injury, the Warsaw Tigers still managed to achieve their pre-season goal - reaching the state finals and achieving a top 15 finish. The Tigers finished in 15th place in the 24-team field. Whitko finished 17th place.

Poyner turned in a gutty and impressive performance and crossed the finish line in 61st place with a time of 16:30, followed by Ismael Calderon (94th with a time of 16:51), Ellis Coon (96th with a time of 16:51), Robert Murphy (102nd with a time of 16:55), Michael Smolen (153rd with a time of 17:29), Michael Compton (154th with a time of 17:29), and Brysten James (166th with a time of 17:39).

The Tigers and coach Jim Mills, while still enjoying this year's success and outstanding individual performances, are hoping that this experience is one that makes next year's group even more determined as Warsaw returns 20 of their top 22 runners next season.
