The Warsaw Lady Tigers won their first Northrop Bruin Invitational after finishing as runners up the past two seasons. In a unique format, freshman and sophomores ran the first race and the juniors and seniors ran the last race. Results were tabulated by adding the top 3 runners' times from each of the four class levels and then the fastest 5 runners' times were added to determine the overall team champion.

This year the freshman (Hannah Dawson, Emma Hayward and Brooke Rhodes) won their division as well as the seniors (Ashley Erba, Sarah Ray and Tayler Mylin). Both the sophomores (Tennie Worrell, Hannah Thompson and Laine Hertel) and juniors (Madeline Hooks, Kara Millington and Jackie Ferguson) were third. In the overall team effort, the team of Erba, Ray, Dawson, Hayward and Mylin totaled 1:40:44, nearly six minutes ahead of the second place team from Concordia.

Ashley Erba was awarded the Barrie Petersen award as the meet's most outstanding female runner after breaking her own course record by 54 seconds.

Next up for Warsaw is their final home meet of the year on Tuesday, Sept. 11 at Miller Field with the Senior Night ceremony starting at 5:10 pm This will be the last chance to watch the team at home and cheer on the 10th-ranked team in the state as they face NLC foes Plymouth and Goshen.
