The Warsaw Lady Tigers raced to a conference runners-up finish on Saturday to cap off the regular season. Behind the powerful 1-2 finish of Seniors Ashley Erba (17:17) and Sarah Ray (18:59), Warsaw scored 56 points in the meet and trailed conference champion Northridge by 21 points.

Erba led from the start and ran an even-paced race throughout the 5k distance. Ray led the chase group early and trailed a fast-starting Elkhart Memorial's Sierra Moore through 2 miles before making a strong move to take over the second spot before the 4000m marker and then pulled away to the finish. Erba's time was not only a meet record but an Ox Bow Park course record and the third fastest time ever in Indiana history; she wrapped up her NLC career with three NLC individual championships (09, '11, '12).

Erba, Ray, and Hannah Dawson (freshman) were selected as NLC All-Conference athletes with Emma Hayward (freshman) capturing an Honorable Mention spot.

In the Junior Varsity race, Emily Stouder (4th), Hannah Thompson (6th), Claire Kehler (9th) and Cynthia Yoder (10th) ran smart races to steadily moved up through the ranks to lead the squad to a second place finish.

Warsaw is next in action Oct. 9 (5:10p) at the Culver Sectional as they look to win consecutive Sectional championships for the first time in school history. Last season, Warsaw broke Northridge's 21-year old Sectional Championship streak to win their second title in school history.
