On a cold, wet and windy morning at Culver Academy, the action heated up quickly in the 2012 Culver Invitational as the Warsaw Lady Tigers competed at this prestigious meet for the first time in recent history. Over half of the top 25 ranked teams in the state and several quality schools from Ohio and Michigan converged on the Culver Academy campus to put on an incredible display of record-breaking running, making this one of the top meets in the state.

The previous individual course record of 17:53 was set by Meredith Wagner of Sylvania Northview (OH) in 2009, but today four ladies ran faster, led by Warsaw's Ashley Erba in 17:13.7. Erba's time is also the new state record 5K cross country time, breaking Anna Rohrer's (Mishawaka) time of 17:14.1 set last week at the New Prairie Invitational.

Warsaw's strong finish was helped by Sarah Ray finishing 25th overall in medalist honors, Hannah Dawson (88th), Madeline Hooks (122nd), Emma Hayward (124th), Brooke Rhodes (157th) and Tayler Mylin (198th).
