Boy's XC Wins Sectionals

Warsaw Boys Cross Country wins the IHSAA Sectional for the first time since 1990. This victory is only the second sectional championship since 1948 for the program. Warsaw XC is back on the map -- in a Big Big way.

The Tigers were led by all-state candidate Jacob Poyner. The junior star finished first with a time of 16:37. Sophomore Ellis Coon came in 3rd at 16:55 while classmate Ismael Calderon was fourth in 16:58. Here are the remaining Varsity times and places for your 2011 IHSAA SECTIONAL CHAMPS:

7th Robert Murphy 17:09 (Junior)
13th Michael Smolen 17:26 (Senior)
14th Brysten James 17:28 (Junior)
17th Michael Compton 17:39 (Freshman)

Warsaw competes Saturday in the regional at Ox-Bow park. The Tigers will run at 9:30am as they look for a Regional Title and Semi-State bid.
