One Step Closer to the NLC Crown...

Tonight's write up could simply be, "Goshen's Pep Band was awesome." Stop there and call it a night.

Or maybe the entire article could be, "Warsaw Lady Tigers took the floor and never gave it back." Done.

From the first 2 buckets scored by Sarah Shilling and Kayla Stout to the lack-luster ending, it was all Warsaw. Name a stat, it was Warsaw who owned it. Despite the brutal beat down, Goshen played with spirit and energy. They didn't just drag around the court in total defeat. They held their heads up and played hard.

Final Score: Warsaw 74 - Goshen 29

Kelci Freds led the Tiger scoring attack with 17 points. Senior Sarah Shilling and Sophomore Ryesha Jackson scored 14 points each as well for Warsaw. Shilling and Kayla Stout led Warsaw with 6 rebounds apiece. Senior Cendall Ogle led the team with 5 assists.

Natalie Newell led Goshen with 8 points and 6 rebounds.

As for the Lady Tigers, it's one step closer to an NLC title. The Lady Tigers entered the contest with a perfect 3-0 NLC record. Now at 4-0 the next NLC opponent is Concord Saturday night at the Tiger Den. Warsaw is the only undefeated team in the conference and controls their own destiny.

Complete Scoring for Warsaw:

Kelci Freds - 17, Sarah Shilling - 14, Ryesha Jackson - 14, Kaelee Sands - 9, Kayla Stout - 6, Lindsay Baker - 6, Danielle Tat - 3, Beth Plummer - 3, Creigh Ogle - 2

The Lady Tigers will battle Penn Wednesday night in the Tiger Den in a non-conference battle. Penn comes into town with an impressive 12-2 record. Warsaw is now 11-3 overall (4-0 NLC).

See you at the Tiger Den Wednesday night @ 6:15pm.
