ICGSA HIGHLIGHTS WINTER ACADEMIC SUCCESS

INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Coaches of Girls Sports Association released its list of Academic All-State performers for girls basketball and girls swimming. Listed from around the state were several players from the area.
Criteria for inclusion to the lists is the senior must have a 3.5 GPA (or equivalent), an 1110 SAT/24 ACT and have played in 50 percent of the team’s games this season.
For girls basketball, Lakeland Christian Academy’s Anna Reimink leads the area players on the list, and is joined in Honorable Mention status by teammates Maddie Paris and Lauren Starrett. Warsaw’s Maddie Ryman, Wawasee’s Casey Schroeder and NorthWood’s Mackenzie Bergman were all named to the Honorable Mention Academic All-State list.
Other basketball players from the area on the Academic All-State list were Margaret Gallagher of Goshen, Bethany Hayden of John Glenn, Lauren King of Northridge, CeCe Robinson of Plymouth, Kiley Slone of Wabash, Grace Miller of Westview and Jill Brumm of Winamac.
On the Honorable Mention Academic All-State girls basketball list were Anya Kauffman of Bethany Christian, Kaelyn Shively of Bremen, Grace Cotter of Columbia City, Ryley Miller of John Glenn, Ashley Becker and Meghan Bontrager of Northridge, Hannah Bobo, Makenzie Kilmer and Jayda Smith of Penn, and LeAnna Miller and Nisha Patel of Westview.
For girls swimming, the Warsaw trio of Mady Ray, Izzy Ray and Delaney Wihebrink all were named Academic All-State. They were joined locally by Honorable Mention selections Emma Burlingame and Halie Wampler of Manchester.
Other Academic All-State swimmers included Kaitlyn Weadick, Annika Smith and Aurora Avila of Goshen, Chloe Stantz of New Prairie and Margaret Barnett of South Bend St. Joe.
On the Honorable Mention Academic All-State girls swimming list were Elizabeth Zehr and Madison Rittenhouse of Goshen, Alex Palmer of New Prairie and the St. Joe duo of Alyssa Kirkman and Abigail Feltzer.
