Girl's Basketball Wins Season Opener
HUNTINGTON - After a sluggish start, the Lady Tigers erupted and took command in the second quarter of its season opener and rolled to a 66-44 victory at Huntington North. Warsaw outscored the Vikings 43-18 in the second and third quarters combined.
Sarah Heagy's 21 points, seven rebounds and three steals paved the way for Warsaw. Nikki Grose had eight points, six rebounds and a pair of assists, and Jenifer Walker Crawford had eight points. Lindsay's Baker had five steals, five assists, and six rebounds.
In the junior varsity contest, Huntington North captured a 35-14 victory. Viki Harris had six points, and Courtney Farling and Gabby Monroy had four points apiece. Monroy led the Tigers on the boards with seven rebounds.
