Frosh Boys Win Warsaw Invitational

WARSAW - The Warsaw freshman boys basketball team captured a pair of impressive victories on Saturday to capture the Warsaw Invitational.

Going into the tourney with a 1-5 mark that included a pair of heart-wrenching losses - one in double overtime and another in three overtimes - the frosh squad captured a 49-35 win over Penn in the opening round. Penn pulled within a point in the third quarter, but the Tigers erupted down the stretch for the win.

In the championship, the Tigers overcame a late deficit to capture a 31-26 victory over LaPorte.

Tim Swanson scored 15 points in the championship game against LaPorte and he scored 11 points in the morning win to lead the Tigers.
