Grose signs with Hillsdale College!

On Friday, 11/11/11 Lucas Grose signed his letter of intent to play basketball for the Hillsdale College Chargers. Hillsdale is a Divison II school that plays in the GLIAC. (Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference)

From the time Lucas Grose was in elementary school playing basketball for David Wayne and the Lincoln Lions, Lucas Grose was a winner. After the Harrison Huskies run of three straight city championships, it was Lucas Grose and the Lincoln Lions that dominated elementary basketball. As a 5th grader and and a 6th grader, the Lincoln Lions, under the leadership and scoring of Lucas Grose ran the table. The Lincoln Lions did not lose a game during Grose' 5th and 6th grade years and took home the hardware both times.

The middle school years were not too bad either as Lucas led the Lakeview Tigers to back to back conference championships during his 7th and 8th grade years.

On to WCHS where Grose bypassed his dad and the freshman basketball team and led the JV team in scoring. Things kept getting better for young Mr. Grose as his sophomore year proved to be special. Starting varsity as a sophomore is prestigious. Starting varsity on a team that goes undefeated in the always tough Northern Lake Conference, a Sectional Championship, a Regional Championship, a Semi-State championship and State Runner - Up is almost unthinkable. Throw in another NLC crown in his junior year as well!

Lucas Grose accomplished all of those things and now heads into his senior year at WCHS with his college choice in the bag. Lucas Grose is a winner. Hilllsdale College is fortunate to have him.

TSN caught up with Lucas and found out a little bit more about this 6'6", 215 lb mountain of a young man ....

Best Memory as a Warsaw Tiger basketball player: RUNNING OUT ON THE FLOOR AT CONSECO FIELDHOUSE WITH MY TEAMMATES FOR THE SHOOT AROUND THE DAY BEFORE THE STATE CHAMPIONSHIP!

Funniest Moment as a Warsaw Tiger Basketball Player: "During my sophomore year, Nic was hurt and we were playing Rochester at Rochester. After the shoot around before the JV game we all take showers, get dressed and go out and watch the game. Zack Linky and Andy Conrad were the last two in the shower. The two of them may be the funniest guys I know and were kicking cold water on each other. Conrad thought he got the last laugh as he kicked water on Linky and started to run out of the shower. As Andy ran out, Zack tried one last time to get him. As Zack kicked the water, around the corner came Coach Ogle and Zack kicked the water all over Coach!"*
