Warsaw Tiger Baseball Team Opens Season With A Big Win Over Huntington North

WARSAW 3 HUNTINGTON NORTH 1

Coach Mike Hepler's Varsity Tigers opened the season with a 3-1 win on the road over state-ranked Huntington North. Senior Josh Witt earned the win with a complete game three-hitter. Nice pitching performance Josh! Junior Darin Lursen led the offense with two hits.

The Tigers fell to the Colonials in South Bend on Wednesday night. Aaron Christenberry led the offense with two hits and an RBI while Stephen Straits hit a triple and drove in one run. In the JV game, Garrett Gruenewald connected for three hits including a double while Austin Moore hit a triple. Moore went the distance on the mound to get the win.

The varsity will return to action after spring break when they host Tippecanoe Valley on April 14 while the JV will play Manchester on April 13.
