The Warsaw baseball team picked up a home win over Plymouth.
The host Tigers topped the Pilgrims by 9-4 count in the Northern Lakes Conference contest.
Michael Nunez and Noah Burgh had a big day at the dish for the winners. Nunez had three hits for Warsaw and Burgh had a home run and a double.
Nunez also picked up the pitching win with 5 2/3 strong innings on the hill.
The Tigers scored seven runs in the fourth inning to highlight the win. The hosts had 11 hits and did not commit an error.
Warsaw improves to 4-11 overall and goes to 2-8 in league play.
The Warsaw junior varsity team continued its fine season with a 12-1 win over Plymouth.
Jacob Hutcherson notched the pitching win and also had two RBI as the JV Tigers improved to 13-1-1. Brock Poe had two hits and Luis Alonzo two hits and two RBI.
The Tigers play at NorthWood in NLC action Wednesday night.
The Warsaw boys golf team opened league play in impressive fashion.
The Tigers shot a 154 to easily defeat Plymouth and host Elkhart Memorial in a Northern Lakes Conference triangular at the Christiana Creek Golf Club in Elkhart.
Plymouth finished at 169 and Memorial shot 198 in the NLC opener.
Luke Delp earned medalist honors with a 37 for the Tigers.
The trio of Tommy Meier, Jacob LaLonde and Chase Byron all shot 39 for Warsaw. Sam Yeager rounded out the varsity effort with a 45.
The Warsaw junior varsity also posted two wins. The JV Tigers shot 180, while Plymouth was at 193 and Memorial 232.
Zach LaLonde of the JV Tigers was medalist with a 37. Tucker Carlile shot a 42, Noah Pequignot a 49, Cole Voss a 52 and Mason Whitaker a 53.
Warsaw returns to NLC action versus NorthWood on Thursday at McCormick Creek in Nappanee.
