BASEBALL ACTION - APRIL 28

Wednesday night marked a key NLC matchup between the Warsaw Tigers and the Northridge Raiders. Northridge has been a thorn in the Tiger Baseball program the past few years. James Miglin, Josh Witt, and company were looking to erase any past memories with a victory at home. Through 4 1/2 innings of action, Warsaw managed just two runs while the Raiders had touched up Senior starting pitcher, James Miglin, for a total of 5 runs.

The Tigers would make a push in the bottom of the fifth inning. Josh Witt led off the inning with a walk. James Miglin stepped into the batter's box and delivered his team-leading 5th home run of the season. The near 400 foot shot soared over the left center field fence between the scoreboard and the 350 sign. Tiger fans made all kinds of noise as their beloved boys celebrated at home plate.

Unfortunately, the Raiders would respond with 7 runs in the top of the 6th in a disaster of an inning for the Tigers. Warsaw could never recover.

The good news for Mike Hepler's team is they continued to crush the baseball. Warsaw pounded out 14 hits in this contest and left 7 runners stranded on base. Had they converted just 5 of those 7 runners into actual runs, the game would have went extras. Warsaw can use this as a building block for sure.

James Miglin, Joey Hickerson, Brady Ousley and Steven Hanson all had multiple hit games for the Tigers. Miglin recorded his 5th long ball in just 8 total games.

With the loss, the Tigers fell to 6-2 on the season and 4-1 in NLC action.

Warsaw will host a key NLC matchup Friday night against Concord. Come out to Tiger Field and support your Tiger Baseball team.
